The Chartered Management Institute is running a Communicating Bad News seminar at Roehampton University, in London, on the evening of 24 May. The event will be taken by Jo Andrews, Professor of Organisational Communication at Birmingham City University, and will consist of a presentation and an opportunity for group discussion following an interactive case study exercise.

UUK invites universities to support university week campaign
Universities UK is putting a spotlight on higher education and its impact in the UK. Universities UK, in collaboration with the Universities Marketing Forum, is launching a pilot campaign designed to showcase the many ways students, academics and staff make a difference in the UK from training teachers, doctors and sports professionals to developing future fuels, miracle medicines, new technologies and improved nutrition.
The ‘Universities: What’s the big idea?’ campaign will culminate in University Week from 14-21 June 2010. More than 80 higher education institutions plan to participate in the campaign by providing case studies and third-party spokespeople, such as famous alumni, chancellors and renowned academics. They will also support the campaign via their own events, announcements and open days.
