HEERA is a membership organisation that offers its members a range of networking, professional development and other support activities and facilities. It encourages the sharing of good practice, experience and knowledge amongst its members and seeks to advise on best practice and the current state of play at national, regional and institutional level.
HEERA is committed to providing excellent and affordable services to its members and increasing the support it gives professionals from the UK HE sector. A national Executive Committee runs the Association and committee members are all practising professionals within the HE sector. The Committee represents the general membership and is elected at the Association’s Annual General Meeting.
"The Higher Education External Relations Association is the professional body of staff working across the areas of press & public relations, marketing, alumni relations and fundraising in the higher education sector."
HEERA is a professional body run on a voluntary basis by its elected executive committee. Committee members are all practising professionals within the HE external relations sector and bring a wealth of experience to the Association.
Meeting regularly throughout the year, the Committee works to provide a strategic direction for the Association and to steer its activities in line with the needs of its membership. The Committee organises a range of events including the HEERA training day as well as leading the annual publication of the directory of members.
