HEERA event: An Evening with the Education Editors'
9th December, 5pm, Woburn House, Tavistock Square, London.
On Wednesday 9th December there will be a rare opportunity for you to meet some of the leading national journalists covering higher education at ‘An Evening with the Education Editors' from 5pm at Woburn House, Tavistock Square in Central London.
The session - free of charge to HEERA members - will run until 7pm, and will be followed by Christmas drinks.
We’ve lined up a panel of four education editors and journalists to answer the questions you want to ask, and to advise you on do's and dont's in pitching stories and ideas to the nationals. We’ll explore some of the big issues likely to be facing higher education in 2010 and how we can ensure that higher education stays high up the agenda for politicians and policy-makers.
The panel includes:
Lucy Hodges of the Independent
Ann Mroz from Times Higher Education
Graeme Paton from the Telegraph
Jessica Shepherd from the Guardian
The session will be chaired by Donald Macleod, former Guardian Education journalist, now Head of Communications at the Russell Group.
This event offers you an ideal opportunity to meet and put your questions to those journalists who you most want to influence and also to chat to and make contacts of other HE professionals in the sector.
If you would like to come along, please reply to Linda Doyle, HEERA Event Manager, at l.doyle.bham.ac.uk stating your name, position and university and if you intend to stay for drinks afterwards, so that we can fully cater for your attendance.
